Accreditation Process

AIEW accreditation involves a rigorous assessment to ensure quality and credibility.

Application

Submit your professional credentials, experience, and CV for initial review.

Assessment

Complete AIEW Certified Expert (AIEW-CE) certification or equivalent.

Sample Review

Submit sample expert reports for peer assessment against AIEW standards.

Interview

Professional interview with AIEW Accreditation Committee.

Accreditation

Receive AIEW Accredited Expert status and directory listing.

Accreditation Requirements

To be eligible for AIEW Accredited Expert status, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in your field of expertise
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience
  • Current professional registration/membership where applicable
  • Demonstrated experience as an expert witness (or equivalent)
  • Completion of AIEW-CE certification (or commitment to complete)
  • Commitment to AIEW Code of Conduct and Standards
  • Professional indemnity insurance
  • No adverse findings by courts or professional bodies

Already Experienced?

If you have extensive expert witness experience and hold relevant qualifications, you may be eligible for accelerated accreditation through our Recognition of Prior Learning pathway.
